Instead of the traditional meal or instead of a meal full of “new takes on the classic dishes,” I’d love to do things differently. I want a meal so untraditional it doesn’t even follow the normal course progression. Something pot-luck-style where everyone brings the one dish they are most thankful for. It’d be hard to narrow it down but it’d be interesting. I’m not even sure what I’d bring. If I had to choose – and, of course I have to choose because this was my idea! – I am most thankful that tacos exist. I love tacos, especially the untraditional ones. I’d bring roasted carrot and poblanos with feta, chick peas in adobo with cilantro, and lentils with chipotle and goat cheese or queso fresco. (Most of these were inspired by Meez Meals and I am so thankful for them, too.) Greg would bring pizza, I’m sure. Who doesn’t love pizza?
Here are some other edibles I’m thankful for, in no particular order:
– Bivalves, especially clams
– Wild mushroom ravioli
– Czechoslovakian potato dumplings like my grandma makes
– Matzoh ball soup (especially from Ben’s in NY)
– chocolate covered strawberries
– Greek yogurt
– Miso soup
– Avocados
– Cake, of any kind.
– Pickles
What edibles are YOU most thankful for?
